Getting started
How do I sign in?
Enter your email on the sign-in screen. We’ll email you a 6-digit code and a link; use either one. There’s no password to remember. New here? The same steps create your account.
I didn’t get the email.
Check your spam or junk folder and search for “Bored Landlord”. Codes expire after an hour; tap Send again for a new one. Make sure you entered the email address correctly.
On iPhone, the sign-in link opens Safari instead of the app.
Use the 6-digit code instead: type it into the app.
Using the app
How do I add my team?
Settings → Team → enter their email and choose View only or Can edit. They sign in with that email and land in your portfolio. Only the portfolio owner can delete records or manage the team.
What reminders does Bored Landlord send?
On iPhone, with notifications on, you get a reminder at 9 am (Toronto time) for:
- N1 rent increase deadlines;
- leases ending;
- tenant and property insurance expiring;
- move-outs;
- prepaid rent: when to stop and when to start collecting again.
Turn them on in Settings → This iPhone.
How do I lock the app with Face ID?
Settings → This iPhone → Lock with Face ID.
Can I use it without internet?
On iPhone, you can view your last-loaded portfolio offline. Changes need a connection.
I deleted something by mistake.
The portfolio owner can restore it from Settings → Recently removed for 30 days.
Are the Ontario rules in the app legal advice?
No. They’re reminders to help you stay organised. Check the current rules with the Landlord and Tenant Board or a professional before serving notices.
Your data
How do I export my data?
Settings → Export my data.
How do I delete my account?
Settings → Delete my account, then type DELETE to confirm.
- If you own a portfolio: the portfolio and everything in it are permanently deleted, and team members lose access.
- If you’re a member of someone else’s portfolio: you’re removed, and their data stays with them.
This can’t be undone.
